To put it quite simply, Lance Coassin’s style is the sum of his experiences - his life, the love he’s shared and the loss he’s endured all blend together to shape a truly unique musical sound. You need only listen to a sample of Lance’s work, to understand that he performs with his heart on his sleeve, inviting audiences to walk with him along some of the happiest and saddest times of his life.
In 2010, Lance represented Australia at the 14th World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood California USA, winning 2 Gold and 1 Silver medals. Earlier in the same year, Lance in partnership with Kaylee Bell won the Tamworth Songwriting Association’s annual songwriting award in the Amateur Contemporary section for their song “The Seed”. This achievement joins others Lance has in the cabinet such as the Queensland Country Music Festivals Champion of Champions in 2007 and runner-up at the Trans-Tasman Entertainer of The Year in 2009.
Even before the release of an EP, Lance has been mentioned by some of the biggest names in Australian Country Music as a name to watch, including Deniese Morrison, Mike McClellan and Merelyn Carter (Carter and Carter).
With a style so unique for his age, Lance has been compared to the likes of Cat Stevens, Keith Urban and even the Beatles, taking aspects of country and contemporary music and joining them together, to produce beautifully relatable, heartfelt music that transcends genre.
Lance’s passion for his craft and dedication to music see him honing his skills, working on his long awaited debut EP and forever documenting his travels in song.
